We’ve recently made small changes to Wialon Hosting, which simplify your work with sensors during calculations. The changes also affect Hecterra, where we’ve improved campaigns and added an ability to export the map to a PNG file.
Previously, you could face difficulties with calculations if you worked with several sensors of the same type. The values for each of the sensors were displayed in a separate column, and the formula in the calculator automatically took the value of only one sensor with the smallest ID.
It was not simple to set the sensor from which you need to take data manually. To do this, you had to filter sensors using masks (in this case, it was impossible to use the values of several sensors in one table) or to use other manipulations. However, it wasn’t always clear data from which sensor was used in the formula.
Now it is much easier to set the required sensor in the formula. All you need to do is select the sensor, the data from which you need in calculations, and then refer to the sensor name in the calculator. Also, you can now use multiple sensors of the same type in the formula.

We have received a lot of requests from our customers who wanted to download a map with fields as a separate file. In September, we implemented this functionality.
Now both pages containing the map and the general map in reports feature a button to save the visible part of the map in a PNG file. The downloaded file will repeat the map on the user's screen, with the same filters, names, tracks, and omissions.
The image covers approximately the same area that is visible on the screen. The level of detail of the map is selected automatically: for example, when zooming in, you see more details, and they will be displayed in the PNG file.
The downloaded map can be used in reports and presentations, during planning sessions, and for a better explanation to operators.
The options set in the resource settings in Hecterra may be inappropriate for your particular use case. For example, when some of your units have sensors and others don’t, or if one day the start of work shifts to another time. To take into account all the peculiarities, you had to assign drivers in Wialon manually or adjust the resource settings every time.
Now we have added the ability to customize the search settings on the Registrar page itself. By clicking on the icon in the upper right corner, you set the necessary parameters for the current session. And you no longer need to open the resource tab in the settings every time. This is especially useful if you have shifts with different working hours.
When several units are cultivating a field simultaneously or when a single unit works on a field for a number of days, you can group the cultivations in a compound one.
Previously, to create a compound cultivation, you had to go to the Reports page, configure parameters, request data, and design a new cultivation. The whole process was quite time-consuming.
Now a compound cultivation opens automatically once it’s created, with all the properties visible in it – you immediately see the result of the action performed. Considering that most farms perform compound cultivations on a daily basis, such optimization will save a lot of time for your dispatchers.
Last month, we talked about launching campaigns in Hecterra. We continue to expand the functionality of this page. For example, this time we’ve added the ability to sort the table content by any column.
The column containing the list of operations is sorted alphabetically, intervals – by the campaign’s start date, fields – by the number of fields. You can now choose which parameter to apply to put in order campaign data visualization. For example, if you choose to sort by the Interval column, you’ll see the most recent cultivations. While using the Operation column, you’ll quickly find the type of work you are interested in.
We’ve added a button to the Progress tab that allows to quickly update data. By clicking the button, you request new cultivation data and make it rebuild the graphs.
The feature is useful for those cases when several dispatchers work in parallel, or when a dispatcher works in different tabs, or when a manager wants to receive the latest data regarding the campaign progress.
