GPS fleet tracking solution that meets the California Air Resources (CARB) requirements

Problem

2Track is a company that is focused on providing GPS fleet tracking solutions covered under the California Air Resource (CARB) requirements. CARB is the lead agency for climate change programs and oversees all air pollution control efforts in California to attain and maintain health-based air quality standards.

Data from refrigerated trucks should be collected and stored according to certain requirements by CARB. As many of 2Track’s clients own fleets of refrigerators, the company needed a professional electronic tracking system that could comply with all regulations and recommendations of CARB.

Solution

DCS provided 2Track with this advanced electronic tracking system (ETS), and now the complex solution complies among others with the following requirements:

• The ability to track time, location, engine-hour meter readings, and other essential parameters.
• The ability to create geofences around retail and non-retail pickup and delivery points.
• The system must be tamper-proof and allow for tracking-data collection by an independent entity with no other business relationship to the owner or operator of the refrigerated truck.
