The end of 2023 was significant for Wialon. We not only had the opportunity to gather hundreds of partners at Telematics Vilnius but also celebrated the milestone connection of the 3,800,000th vehicle to the platform. Trans Global Geomatics Pvt ltd, a company from India and one of the leaders of Wialon Top 10 in Asia Pacific 2023, became a new anniversary partner.
In this interview, we talked with Sreenivas Grandhi, CEO of Trans Global Geomatics, about his business, the project that helped achieve the milestone connection, and the telematics industry in India.
Sreenivas Grandhi
CEO of Trans Global Geomatics Pvt ltd
Dear Sreenivas, congratulations! How do you feel about becoming a new milestone partner?
Thank you! It’s always a matter of pride to contribute to Wialon’s success story, and I’m thrilled that, for the first time, we have attained the distinction of being a milestone partner.
Could you tell us more about your company?
Trans Global Geomatics Pvt ltd was founded in 2000 and specializes in application development, IoT solutions, and mapping services. We deliver tailor-made IT and IoT projects, catering to government and private clients. Our company can also implement various solutions for Wialon partners.
Do you recall when and where you first learned about Wialon?
We discovered information about Wialon on Google while searching for a robust telematics solution.
What finally convinced you to work with us?
Wialon provides assured technical support and holds a visionary perspective on the future of telematics. Additionally, the company features a strong management team with substantial technical expertise.
What was the first project you launched on Wialon?
Our initial project involved implementing tracking solutions for a concrete mixing company, covering 16 ready-mix concrete (RMC) trucks back in 2014. So, it marks a decade of our partnership with Wialon!
And what was the project that helped you become the milestone partner?
We undertook a government project focused on tracking vehicles operating in flooded rice fields, also known as paddy fields. To do this, we installed 16,200 GPS devices on vehicles to ensure comprehensive coverage. This initiative required seamless integration of Wialon with various software service providers. The tracking data encompassing the movement of trucks, tractors, and bullock carts carrying the paddy is intricately linked to the payment processes for the farmers involved in the project.
To what extent have telematics and IoT penetrated local businesses?
The telematics industry in India is rapidly evolving, presenting significant opportunities for customized applications. The market has progressed beyond basic tracking, now embracing advanced solutions like CAN, video monitoring, fuel tracking, BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy), and the integration of multiple sensor data.
