Wialon NOC

We’ve been having this tool for the system users for quite some time already, but not everyone knows about it. Today, we are going to talk about Wialon NOC, a page where you can monitor the system’s status and learn the news in case of incidents, which are rare but still happen sometimes. In fact, NOC is the main source of information about Wialon’s current status and the first place where you should get it.

What is NOC?

NOC (Network Operations Center) is a webpage where we post information on the current state of the Wialon server center, planned updates of the system’s backend and frontend, and system failures.

There are several data blocks on the page: “Events,” “Statistics,” and the block where you can subscribe for the newsletter and notifications in Telegram

Events

The “Events” section renders the events of three types – updates, issues, and announcements. Each type is highlighted with a different color. As a result, you can see what’s going on without even reading the messages.

After detecting a problem, we inform the partner community as soon as possible via the NOC tool and post the event updates until the issue is resolved. Within one working day after it, we send an email with a detailed analysis of the incident.

Statistics

In the “Statistics” section, you can get to know the statuses of Wialon services whose performance is monitored separately. This kind of monitoring is carried out for all the users. If someone has a problem, we get a message about it, and the status of the corresponding group on the NOC page changes its color to yellow or red depending on the seriousness of the case.

Here, you will also find stats on the units and users online, messages from units per minute, and types of devices supported in Wialon. This data allows for additional evaluation of the current system’s status. You can also click on the widgets showing the units and users online. Thus, you will see the charts with dynamic data for a day, month, year, or any other required period.

The uptime of every Wialon data center (in Moscow, Groningen, and Washington – the geographic location is marked on the map) for every current month is displayed in one of the widgets of the “Statistics” section.

How to sign up for the Wialon NOC newsletter?

To always be aware of Wialon services status and be able to quickly deal with any changes, sign up for the Wialon NOC newsletter. You can do this by leaving your email address in the Subscribe block at the bottom of the page.

Note: if you subscribed but never received a single newsletter, it means you haven’t confirmed the subscription. To confirm it, you need to agree to the receiving of the newsletter by replying to the automatic email with the request. To get this email one more time, write to support@gurtam.com.

Alongside the newsletter, you can sign up for the NOC newsfeed on Telegram.

Telegram subscription

As soon as a new event appears or the previous one is updated, the information about this shows up on Telegram. This way, you can learn the news even faster. You can also leave your comments and suggestions related to NOC on the Gurtam forum.

The Wialon team does its best for the incidents to hardly ever happen. We review all the incidents related to the platform’s downtime and eliminate their causes. On top of that, the Wialon team responsible for data centers and IT-services continuously analyzes possible issues and performs preventive maintenance. Due to this, 99,9% of emergencies never occur.

If you are facing any issue with Wialon, your first source of information is Wialon NOC. In case you couldn't find out there what was going on, write to or call our technical support. Other than that, visit the page from time to time to monitor Wialon services status. Signing up for the NOC updates via email or Telegram will help save some of your nerve cells that die when you worry too much without having the important info.
