Fighting fuel thefts in Serbia

Problem

V2 Trauser d.o.o, Serbia, specializes in cargo transportation. The company’s pain was fuel theft committed by employees and intruders who broke into the parking lot at night and stole valuable liquid from vehicles.

Solution

The Wialon partner Almaks, Serbia, created a safety system that allowed V2 Trauser d.o.o to eliminate the problem.

The hardware was installed for the tank and in the vehicle, and with the help of the tracker, the information from the sensors is sent to the monitoring system or activates the alarm system. Here’s how it works in detail:

• The solution consists of refueling control to stop thefts committed by drivers and the alarm system to ward off intruders.
• The system controls the opening of the fuel tank cap. As a result, only employees with authorized RFID cards can access the fuel tank. Thanks to the RFID cards, the client knows who refuels the vehicle or steals fuel.
• If the cap is opened without authorization, the GPS FMS500 STCAN tracker activates the alarm installed in the vehicle. 
• Apart from controlling the vehicle's alarm siren, the GPS tracker also sends a message to Wialon. Then, the monitoring platform sends an SMS to the guard’s terminal to activate a stronger siren.
• Almaks engineers added one more protection level via the DUT-E fuel level sensor by Technoton and the Arduino controller. In case thieves decide to drill the fuel tank, the decrease of fuel level is detected, and the alarm is also activated. 
• The alarm system reacts as well if the fuel level sensor wires are cut.
