We're thrilled to bring you the Wialon updates rolled out in September 2023. In this article, you’ll learn about several improvements, such as the ability to configure the sensor fractions, restore drivers, passengers and trailers along with their assignments, export data from the Trash. You’ll also get acquainted with the new UI of the work list.

Refreshed look of the work list on the Monitoring tab

We've started to redesign the work list of units and unit groups on the Monitoring tab to enhance the overall user experience, making it smoother and more intuitive. This redesign will be implemented gradually, in several stages. In September, we've refreshed the visual styles of the work list elements giving them a more contemporary look.

It's important to note that these changes focus solely on the interface. The monitoring options settings for the list elements have remained unchanged and continue to function exactly as they did before.

We have already received feedback on this change. We appreciate your input and in October, plan on rolling out additional improvements based on it.

Restoring drivers, passengers, trailers, and their assignments

Users can now independently restore deleted drivers, passengers, and trailers, along with their assignment history, without the need to request technical support. This feature comes in particularly handy when the user needs to recover lost data due to accidental deletion or the incorrect use of the Replace import type when existing data is completely removed and replaced with the new one.

Exporting data from the Trash in .xlsx format

Recently, we've been expanding the data range displayed in the table of deleted objects making it more insightful and useful. And now, all this information can be effortlessly exported in .xlsx format in just a few clicks. Thanks to this enhancement, Wialon partners can easily and conveniently share the data with users who don't have access to the Trash.

Ability to configure the fractional sensor values

We've introduced an improvement that offers flexibility in choosing how fractional sensor values are displayed in messages, reports, tooltips, and other sections of the system. Users now have the option to select between displaying decimal fractions or rounding the values. This feature applies to sensors within the Mileage, Gauges, Engine, and Fuel groups, as well as to custom sensors.

Hiding the decimal part is practical for sensors whose fractional values are insignificant. For example, in the case of event codes, each event is assigned a whole number (1 — speeding, 2 — extreme braking).

The ability to conceal the "unnecessary" decimal component in specific sensors simplifies the visual interpretation of information in reports.
