Our week in Brazil flew by — fast, bright, and full of action. Our team met with the Wialon partners during a reunion and also participated in Exposec. We came back with fresh market insights, new ideas for collaboration, and plenty of warm memories. In this article, we’re sharing the highlights.

Video telematics in Brazil: Insights from the partner reunion

In June, we held a Wialon community reunion in São Paulo — an event that brought together telematics and fleet management service providers working with Wialon.

We presented the latest product updates and features designed to support our partners’ business growth, while they shared their recent projects, key achievements, and current challenges. This open exchange helped us align on shared goals and sparked fresh ideas for future initiatives.

For many, one of the most insightful moments of the reunion was the panel discussion on video telematics, one of the fastest-growing areas in fleet management today. The panel brought together four industry experts from Instale Tecnologia, Intelbras, Mobilecomm, and ALI SAT, all with hands-on experience in the Brazilian market.

They shared that while many local fleet owners were initially hesitant — concerned about costs, unsure of the real benefits, or assuming video was “only for large fleets” — that perception is beginning to shift.

Real-life examples showing how video telematics can help prevent accidents, dispute fines, and improve driver behavior are playing a key role in building trust and promoting wider adoption.

As Alisson Dias, CEO of ALI SAT, said, “Together with our client, we tested the video solution with our most challenging driver. Within a month, there wasn’t a single incident — he completely changed.”

The panelists also emphasized the importance of a personalized approach when working with fleet owners. Video telematics is often seen as a significant investment in safety and business development. That’s why solution providers need to go beyond standard setups — taking the time to understand each fleet’s unique challenges and tailoring the system to meet real operational needs.

If you’re a telematics or fleet management service provider working in Brazil, we recommend checking out the full panel recap, available in Portuguese. It offers practical advice on how to successfully roll out video solutions, communicate their value to clients, operate in areas with limited connectivity, and more.

On August 8, Wialon and Intelbras will host a joint webinar on the evolution of video telematics in Brazil. You’re welcome to register here.

Vehicle and cargo security in focus: Highlights from Exposec

Right after the community reunion, we participated in Exposec — one of Latin America’s largest security technology exhibitions.

We created a dedicated fleet management hub for the event and invited Wialon’s technology partners to co-exhibit with us. This collaborative space gave visitors a unique opportunity to explore a wide range of software and hardware solutions for vehicle security and fleet management, all in one place.

The Wialon team demonstrated key software features designed to protect vehicles and cargo from hijacking, including real-time tracking, instant alerts, route optimization, video telematics, and remote engine shut-off. Beyond fleet safety, these Wialon tools also help Brazilian transport and logistics companies comply with national regulations, which require tracking cargo valued over R$40,000 (approximately $7,000).

Six top-tier hardware manufacturers joined Wialon at the booth: Intelbras, Howen Technologies, Escort Monitoring Systems, SGBras, BSJ Technology, and A-Telematics. They showcased a robust lineup of technologies, from GPS trackers, cameras, and MDVRs to IoT modules, fuel sensors, and electronic padlocks. Their contributions highlighted how combining smart hardware with advanced software delivers end-to-end protection for modern fleets.

Wialon support for a rapidly growing market

According to 6Wresearch, the Brazilian automotive telematics market is expected to grow at a strong compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 15% between 2025 and 2031.

So, what’s fueling this growth? First, Brazil leads Latin America with the region’s largest and most diverse commercial fleet, from long-haul logistics and public transit to agriculture and mining operations. Then, there’s the rapid expansion of 5G, bringing high-speed connectivity to more regions and unlocking the full potential of modern telematics.

In addition, the public sector is stepping up with policies and frameworks. These include initiatives like ANATEL certification — a mandatory process that ensures telecommunications equipment meets Brazil’s national standards for safety and performance — and broader digital governance programs that are accelerating the adoption of smart mobility solutions.

“Brazil isn’t just a big market — it’s the biggest in Latin America, with an incredible variety of fleets. These fleets need management systems that are flexible, cost-effective, and meet strict regulations. Wialon checks all those boxes. And as more regional partners join us each year, more local businesses gain access to complete, customer-focused solutions powered by Wialon.”

As the market grows and demand for fleet management solutions rises, Wialon is trying to make it easier for local service providers and their clients in Brazil to enter and succeed in the space. Wialon provides lots of tools and resources available in Portuguese, including:

And of course, Wialon’s Partner Success Managers speak Portuguese (as well as English, French, Spanish, and Russian).

Through these efforts, Wialon ensures that its Brazilian partners and their clients not only have access to powerful technology, but also to the resources and support they need, in their own language.
