World Cup energy ⚽ Highlights from Wialon’s week in Mexico

Wialon Mexico 2026 (3)

The 2026 FIFA World Cup is in full swing, and fans are counting down to the final on July 19. But did you know that for the Wialon community, this football summer had its own opening chapter?

We were right where it all began — in Mexico, just days before the home team stepped onto the pitch at the Azteca Stadium — for two back-to-back events: the Wialon community reunion and Expo Seguridad.

In football, the game is easier to follow when you know who is on the field and why the moment matters. The same is true for the fleet management market. So, if you’ve ever wondered why Mexico City keeps appearing on the Wialon calendar year after year, it’s time to look at the scoreboard.

Fleet digitalization in Mexico: High stakes, fast growth

According to Berg Insight, Wialon is the #1 fleet management solution in Latin America by the number of connected vehicles — and Mexico is one of the reasons why.

Wialon Mexico Numbers

Today, Wialon connects 519,000 vehicles in Mexico, and the number keeps growing.

These numbers show the real demand behind fleet digitalization in the country.

What is driving the adoption of telematics?

  • First, security. According to SESNSP, Mexico’s government body for national public security data, carriers in Mexico faced an average of 11 violent robberies per day in January–May 2026. The wider vehicle security picture was also alarming: vehicle theft involving violence reached around 90 cases per day. And because official statistics only capture reported cases, the real impact on fleets can be even broader.

  • Then, efficiency and operational control keep fleets connected. As diesel prices rise, companies are paying closer attention to fuel use. At the same time, regulations such as Carta Porte create demand for solutions that help fleets stay compliant.

For Wialon partners, this demand creates a clear opportunity: to deliver solutions that match Mexico’s fleet priorities — and the results speak for themselves. 8 companies in the Wialon Top 10 North America 2026 ranking are based in Mexico.

Celebrating them was one of the reasons we came to Mexico City, which brings us to…

Wialon community reunion CDMX

June 1

Over 200 Wialon partners gathered at a green, open-air venue that immediately set the day apart from a typical conference hall.

Wialon Mexico 2026 (1)

The day opened with time capsule video messages recorded in Lithuania and in Brazil, where the Wialon partners had met just 1 day earlier — a reminder that each community event is part of a much longer conversation.

Then, partners got a closer look at Wialon Platform as a powerful solution builder for fleet digitalization. The Wialon Lite presentation also drew strong interest, especially among partners who need essential fleet management tools for their clients. We also covered the latest updates in Wialon Hosting and Wialon Local.

Just one example: Wialon Hosting now supports notifications via WhatsApp — a highly requested feature in сountries such as Mexico, where operators already use WhatsApp as part of their everyday business communication.

AI was part of the picture, too: demos of Lona, our AI-powered assistant, and the Wialon app in ChatGPT gave a look at where fleet management is heading.

Business growth had its own place on the agenda. A marketing insights session brought together perspectives from Wialon and our partners Unicomm and Geologistic on what is actually working in lead generation.

  • Based on a partner survey, referrals and partnerships remain the most widely used customer acquisition channels.

  • Another takeaway was about advertising content: the strongest materials first deliver value by explaining, teaching, and helping customers understand the solution — before moving to a sales message.

The next session focused on fleet insights. Juan Sadurni, VP of Technology and Innovation at Traxión, shared how one of Mexico’s largest fleet operators uses data to improve efficiency.

The football thread continued with Prof. Yilberto Morales, CEO of MX CAVA SPORTS and international football agent, who drew a practical comparison between managing a football club and running a telematics business. His point was clear: in both fields, success depends on strong leadership, clear planning, and effective communication.

And then came the moment we mentioned earlier: the Wialon Top Partners awards. This year, the North American ceremony came to Mexico City for the first time, making the celebration feel more personal. We also recognized partners from the South America and Asia Pacific rankings who joined us at the reunion.

Alongside this, we recognized partners who contribute most actively to the Wialon community through shared knowledge: 2 winners were selected by our team, while the 3rd was chosen through a live vote in the Spanish-speaking partner chat.

  • Technical excellence: Pablo Soto, Siguelo GPS

  • Problem-solving excellence: Edgar Aranda, Road Telematics

  • Community choice winner: Jesus David Mejia, Seguitel

For the whole event, football naturally stayed part of the atmosphere: World Cup décor, Mexico scarves and caps as prizes, and a mini football challenge that kept the competitive spirit alive between sessions.

Expo Seguridad

June 2–4

The next morning, the conversation moved to Centro Citibanamex for Expo Seguridad — one of Latin America's largest security technology expos.

At the fleet management hub, visitors could explore Wialon products alongside hardware and connectivity solutions from 12 co-exhibitors.

Expo Seguridad also gave us another chance to connect with the Wialon partners, including companies that have reached the Gold level. The status system is based on the number of vehicles connected to Wialon and is renewed annually.

A Wialon watch for Gold partners — a special token of appreciation for the time, trust, and projects we’ve shared over the years

In football, you don't win alone. Fleet digitalization projects are no different — and that’s exactly the idea the Wialon fleet management hub is built around.

We asked our co-exhibitors what made the hub valuable for them. Here’s what they shared:

"Wialon's ability to attract a large audience is what made us decide to join the hub. The idea of creating synergy between fleet management products — software, hardware, and connectivity — is something that works for everyone involved."
Adriana Glezz, Head of LATAM, ERM Advanced Telematics

"We've been working with Wialon for years, and exhibiting together is a genuine win-win: both parties grow side by side. I'd recommend Wialon as a fleet management platform to any client who needs those capabilities — and I'd recommend the Wialon hub to any hardware manufacturer looking to grow."
Alberto Buenabad, Product Manager, Howen Technologies

"At Expo Seguridad, we made new connections and found new opportunities. Working with Wialon helps us understand market trends and identify solutions that complement ours."
Pablo Daniel Badillo, Technical Support Engineer, Galileosky

"We joined the Wialon hub for the first time about three years ago. Today, we have more than 10,000 vehicles running on Wialon, and our clients are happy with the platform. The hub concept works because it builds a full ecosystem — not just software, but everything around it."
Miu Zhu, Boshijie Technology

The final whistle? Not quite

After a football match, what you remember isn’t just the scoreline. Often, it’s the moments that show a team clicking, such as a beautiful sequence of well-timed passes.

Our week in Mexico City had plenty of those moments — built on years of partnership and a shared goal: helping fleets run safer and more efficiently.

Olga Zhunusova “At the community reunion, we saw once again how strong and active the Wialon partner network in Mexico and across Latin America has become.

At Expo Seguridad, we saw the same momentum from the market side — with clear demand for fleet management solutions that help businesses improve security, control fuel consumption, and run operations more efficiently.

That is exactly where Wialon and our partners bring real value — with powerful products, a hardware-agnostic approach, and free, 24/7 technical support in 5 languages, including Spanish.

A massive thank you to everyone who joined the Wialon team in Mexico City — our partners, co-exhibitors, and visitors alike. We’re leaving with stronger connections, fresh market insights, and even more confidence in what we can build together in Mexico and across Latin America.”

— Olga Zhunusova, Head of New Sales at Wialon
