18 years of mutual success: Wialon and Teltonika reach 1 million connected vehicles worldwide

Our long-standing collaboration with Teltonika has given us plenty of achievements to look back on: 18 years of partnership, 4 consecutive years with Teltonika holding the top spot in our GPS Hardware Manufacturers Top 10 ranking, hundreds of successful partner projects featuring Teltonika devices, and regular participation in each other’s events and webinars across the globe.

Today, we are expanding our collection of memorable moments with the most significant milestone yet: 1 million Teltonika GPS devices are now connected to Wialon across global fleet digitalization projects.

Large numbers are easier to understand when they have a point of reference. Currently, over 4 million vehicles are connected to Wialon globally. Out of all these vehicles, 1 million are equipped with Teltonika’s trackers.

Every day, the 1 million vehicles connected by Wialon and Teltonika travel a combined 67 million kilometers.

That’s more than the total length of all roads on Earth, including unpaved routes. Or, looking beyond Earth, it’s roughly the same as making 87 round trips to the Moon every day, or covering almost half the distance between Earth and the Sun.

A long journey of shared progress

The story of collaboration between two Lithuanian companies began in June 2008, when Teltonika’s first devices were connected to Wialon.

A fun fact: back in 2008, one of the first models connected to Wialon was the GPS tracker Teltonika FM4100. Despite being introduced more than a decade ago, nearly 100 FM4100 units are still connected to Wialon today. In an industry where telematics devices are typically replaced as technology evolves, this kind of longevity is rare — and a strong testament to the quality and reliability of Teltonika’s hardware.

Over the years, our partnership continued to grow, and so did the numbers.

In 2017, we celebrated the connection of 100,000 Teltonika devices to Wialon. Just 2 years later, in February 2019, that figure doubled as the 200,000th Teltonika tracker was registered on the platform.

Our collaboration goes far beyond hundreds of successful partner projects enabled by the powerful symbiosis of Wialon software and Teltonika’s hardware. It is also very eventful — in every sense of the word!

Teltonika has regularly joined Wialon’s key industry gatherings, such as Telematics Vilnius and the recent large-scale Telematics & Connected Mobility conference. Teltonika’s Head of Operational Marketing Aleksandr Krupovic also contributed as a jury expert for the IoT Project of the Year contest in 2022 and 2024.

We also value every opportunity to participate in Teltonika’s events around the world. Among the latest ones, Wialon took part in Teltonika Summit Colombia in Bogotá, Teltonika Summit South Asia in Jakarta, Indonesia, and — most recently — Teltonika Summit Europe in Vilnius, Lithuania. It is always a pleasure to represent Wialon at these events and continue strengthening our partnership.

And, naturally, our collaboration extends to joint webinars, where we bring together our expertise and industry experience to help partners stay informed and get the most out of the strong “Wialon + Teltonika” combination.

At the Teltonika Summit Europe, we had the pleasure of marking our latest milestone in a special way. Aliaksandr Kuushynau, Head of Wialon, presented Darius Mališauskas, CEO of Teltonika Telematics, with an award in recognition of the 1 million vehicles with Teltonika devices connected to Wialon around the world.
