This June, we kicked off the fourth edition of our global telematics contest, IoT project of the year 2024. This event aims to spotlight the most innovative and outstanding fleet management and IoT projects implemented by various technological companies and telematics service providers for their clients.
The 2024 edition of the contest stands out as the most geographically diverse. We got 100 submissions from 45 countries all over the world, including Mexico, Brazil, USA, the Netherlands, Estonia, South Africa, India, Australia, Lebanon, Kuwait and many others. Mexico led with 14 projects, followed by the USA and India with 6 each, and South Africa with 5.
The jury evaluated the projects based on a number of specific criteria, carefully selecting the finalists. The team was impressed by the variety of submitted projects, which differed in fleet size, covered various industries, and tackled a wide range of client challenges.
So, are you excited to see the finalists? First, let us give you a quick overview of our jury and the evaluation criteria.
This year, the contest jury comprises over 40 members, including specialists from various Wialon teams such as the Development Center, Partner Growth, Technical Care, and others.
They’ve been joined by 3 guest experts: Sam Barker, VP of Telecoms Market Research at Juniper Research; Aleksandr Krupovic, Chief of Operational Marketing at Teltonika Telematics and Alexei Zhurkevich, Product Manager at Fleet Services, Volvo Construction Equipment.
The jury is chaired by Andrei Liatsetski, Head of Project Implementation at Wialon. His team works closely with partners in over 160 countries, offering expert guidance on implementing fleet management solutions for clients in a wide range of industries.
You can view the complete list of our jury members on the website.
Our jury approached the evaluation process with maximum responsibility and meticulous attention to detail. The projects were awarded points based on the following criteria:
The top projects with the highest points were included in the list of finalists. During the evaluation process, the jury was greatly impressed by the projects, resulting in many receiving a high number of points. As a result, several projects ended up with the same score, prompting us to adjust our initial plan and expand the finalist roster to include 45 projects instead of 40.
And, finally, the most exciting bit we wanted to tell you today! We are happy to announce the full list of finalists of IoT project of the year 2024:

Andrei Liatsetski
Head of the Jury at IoT project of the year 2024
“I warmly congratulate all the finalists! The competition was fierce, but the best projects have been selected! What's coming next is a battle where the margins are razor-thin — proof that all shortlisted candidates are already winners!
As I was reviewing the projects, I was sometimes surprised and often genuinely impressed by the creativity of our community — whether it was the innovative software solutions or the unique assets connected to the system. Conveyor belts connected to Wialon? Who would've thought! That said, I believe some projects have the potential to achieve even more with the full range of Wialon tools. And that’s exactly where our Project Implementation Team can step in to help!
So, let's take a moment to celebrate our achievements and keep pushing forward with new, exciting projects. Let’s implement them together and build a strong portfolio for future project-related events!”
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the finalists whose projects captured the jury's attention and stood out among the competition — an impressive achievement that speaks to their innovation and dedication. All finalist companies will be honored with the following awards:
We also wish to thank all participants for their contributions and efforts. Each new season of the IoT project of the year contest showcases how companies around the world are delivering remarkable solutions and leading the way in fleet digitalization for their clients.
