Fleet management for a pharmaceutical company in Russia

Problem

R-Pharm is a leading Russian developer and manufacturer of pharmaceuticals. The company has several offices in various regions of Russia and its own vehicle fleet for transporting medicines with more than 100 vehicles.

R-Pharm wanted to connect the entire vehicle fleet to the monitoring system in order to:

• control the temperature during the transportation of medicines and ensure compliance with international standards;
• set up a control system for all the vehicles;
• respond quickly and efficiently to emergencies, for example, a breakdown of a refrigerator.

Since 2019, the company has tested various monitoring systems, but pilot projects have been unsuccessful.

Solution

The solution offered by the ALFA TELEMATICS integrator solves two main tasks. First, it creates a system for monitoring the temperature and operation of the refrigerator during transportation. Secondly, it allows you to customize the fleet operation system thanks to end-to-end analytics on fuel consumption, data on vehicle movement along the route, driver identification, etc.

At the first stage of the project, the integrator installed several types of devices for each vehicle:

• iQFreeze thermostat;
• Galileosky tracker;
• TKLS fuel level sensor by Technokom;
• door opening sensor;
• tachograph for downloading data from driver cards.

Proprietary protocols have been developed for each type of technology using EasyLogic. Now equipment of any type and any brand can be connected to the CAN bus.

Wialon generates operational and summary reports on key indicators (fuel consumption, mileage, refrigerator condition, etc.) based on the received data.

For critical parameters, including the technical condition of the equipment, the integrator set up notifications of different types for various customer departments.
