Updates: what’s new in November 2020

Despite all the hardships that we have been facing in 2020, the Wialon developers keep working on the system’s enhancements to make your and your clients’ work with it even more convenient and effective. Today, we are going to revise the new functionality that we added last month in Wialon Hosting, Hecterra, Fleetrun, and Logistics.

Wialon Hosting

Relocation of the fuel consumption settings to the fuel sensors settings

For you to be able to configure and accurately control the fuel consumption for special machinery with several fuel tanks, we relocated the fuel consumption settings to the settings of fuel sensors. It made the configuration process more logical and transparent as everything will be located in a single window (in the settings of the needed fuel sensor).

Within this task, we also added the ability to bind sensors to sensors (engine sensors to FLS, engine efficiency sensors to the selected engine sensors), extended the fuel consumption calculation by math for FLS, and сhanged the import and export process both for sensors and entire units, so that you could, for example, import the previously exported units correctly.

Note! Current fuel consumption settings were retained and are now available for viewing and editing in already existing fuel sensors.

We will temporarily keep the Fuel consumption tab. There, we added a detailed tooltip for each setting with its current location in the fuel sensors. 

Blocks management on the Dashboard page

We modified the management of the blocks’ order on the Dashboard page. Now, hovering over the block title, users can drag any block to any place. Thus, managing the blocks’ order on the Dashboard page has become genuinely user-friendly.

Dashboard enhancements

So that the work with Dashboard was even more smooth, we slightly changed its interface:

• modified the elements’ width, added indents;
• now the pie charts are displayed clockwise.

New filter by geofences in the Images table 

We added the filtration by geofences in the Images table. The new feature will come in handy when the user needs to download photos for a specific period by each client (if the client is marked on the map as a geofence). Thus, you can view the needed information in the most convenient way.

Application example: The company provides services and demands completed work proof via sending a photo. Each employee has a tablet with WiaTag installed. The worker sends the before and after work photos with it. To look through these photos conveniently, generate a group report applying geofence and unit filters.

Hecterra

New limits for time-consuming requests

We introduced new limits for time-consuming requests. Let us remind you that previously, you could launch only one time-consuming request per resource (cultivations search, recalculation, creation of compound cultivation, etc.). Now, this limitation is valid only for the user’s session and not the resource. It allows several dispatchers to work in one resource simultaneously. However, they can’t manipulate one and the same unit or cultivation. 

Autocomplete for the Fuel consumption rate

As many similar works are performed in the fields at the same time, their fuel consumption rates are pretty much the same. To spare the user the need to always enter this data manually when registering the cultivation and also to minimize possible errors, we added the autocomplete for the Fuel consumption rate field. The data is automatically taken from the entries the user utilized in the current session (up to 5 entries). You can see the list of available values by clicking on the Fuel consumption field.

Fleetrun

Creation of fuel fillings for the fleet units in Fleetrun 

We added the ability to create fuel fillings directly in Fleetrun. It will allow for more detailed fuel expenses tracking. The creation and editing of fuel fillings work similarly to the creation and editing of services.

On the new Fuel fillings page, you will see the list of all the fuel fillings in the fleet.

Line items library: a new line item ‘Fuel’

Now, a new tab Fuel is available in the line items library. You can add fuel types that are most frequently used in the fleet there. There are two ways to do so: to select from the preset types or add the fuel type manually. With the former option, you can create fuel fillings faster choosing the needed type right away.

Fuel units of measurement 

We added the ability to select the fuel units of measurement so that the user could work with the habitual system. You can do it in the Administration panel on the Fleet settings tab.

Logistics

The order creation/editing dialog improvement

We revised the way custom fields are displayed in the order creation/editing dialog and also removed the ability to add them in this dialog. Now, you can add custom fields only in the app’s settings. It allows the user to create the field only once and get all possible related functionalities: the field will be available in the order creation dialog, orders table, import table, reports, and will also be available in the app’s mobile version. Thus, the user can effectively manage custom fields in one place.

Reports improvement

Now the columns with custom fields are available in all types of reports. If you add the Custom fields column to the table, you will see all the custom fields added on the corresponding tab in the settings. It means that in the report, you will have all the data needed for the delivery at all times.

Interface redesign 

We enhanced the app’s interface: changed the color scheme, replaced the interface elements, and improved animation. On top of that, the interface is now adaptable to the webpage size changes. As a result, you can easily manage routes on the tablet, for example.
