(Updated) Back to school: where to learn more about Wialon?

In many countries, the beginning of September is the time when students usually start their year. For example, in most of the CIS countries, the 1st of September is the Knowledge Day. To honor this holiday, we've prepared a list of resources to improve your Wialon knowledge.

Step 1. Enroll in an online course and get a consultation

Attraining.gurtam.com you can enroll in a real training course with theory and practical tasks. You can participate online at your own pace. Once you're confident in your Wialon knowledge, you can proceed to certification.

We have recently launched a new online course that allows Wialon users to master the platform’s basics in three lessons. After completing the program, the trainee takes a final test and receives a certificate.

Step 2. Dig through Wialon help center

Wialon help center helps navigate through the wide variety of platform features. We recommend reading Quick Start first, which is a shorter and easier version of the full user guide section.

In addition to the basic information, the Wialon help center has a separate “Miscellaneous” tab for every product, where educational articles are regularly added. In these materials, our training specialists answer the frequently asked questions, give advice, and analyze situations that Wialon partners face in their work. For example, in the section, you can read articles about fuel control, tips for Wialon Local administrators, how to choose the number of digital input/output (I/O), etc.

By the way, the documentation is available for download as pdf files, which can be later edited, shared, or printed for your convenience.

Step 3. Watch the video on the basic functionality

Our YouTube channel is a regularly updated source of helpful information for Wialon partners and users. For example, there is a playlist for beginners with training videos on the platform’s basic functionality. The tutorials from this playlist teach how to use the main Wialon tools and show how to apply the acquired knowledge in practice.

Step 4. Watch the webinars

We have been making webinars in English for three years now, breaking down the most relevant and vital questions on Wialon: Eco Driving and working with drivers, the Passenger module, fuel consumption calculations, and more. Visit the webinars section to find the answers for important questions, download the presentations and subscribe to the future webinars in order not to miss the upcoming updates.

Wialon also holds joint webinars with partners and hardware manufacturers. We discuss the topics relevant for the telematics community during online meetings like these. For example, recently, we arranged a discussion together with Galileosky to tell our viewers about the ways of maximizing profits in cargo transportation.

Step 5. Follow the updates

Fundamental knowledge is a must, but what about the latest news? To stay on top of each and every change of Wialon and other Gurtam products, we recommend subscribing to the forum topics. Each product manager publishes the release notes there monthly.

Step 6. Watch Gurtam meetups and videos from conferences

Oddly enough, the coronavirus pandemic turned out to be the reason for creating such new educational format for the partner community as Gurtam online meetups. We couldn’t meet in person, so we decided to meet online! There are already two seasons of meetups under our belt. During them, we discussed the burning issues of the telematics market and showed how to master Wialon and other products by Gurtam. Find the records of all the meetups on our YouTube channel.

There, you will also find the recordings of the Wialon partners and our representatives' presentations at various events. We have already held an industry-specific conference dedicated to passenger transportation. Videos from such events will show you how telematics and IoT can drastically improve business processes in various industries.

Step 7. Watch presentations from Gurtam product managers

Who can tell you the most about a solution? Of course, the person who created it. Here, Gurtam Product Managers take the stage: they watch the market and track its requirements, talk to partners and collect feedback from businesses, and all this to understand where to grow Gurtam products further.
