While we won’t be competing in the main race, we’ll be embarking on our own thrilling adventure alongside the legendary rally, tracing the routes of professional teams and crossing paths with motorsport’s biggest stars. The ultimate adventure awaits

We’re no strangers to thrilling challenges. Our previous adventure happened in 2023, when we took on Mount Rinjani — an active volcano and the second-highest peak in Indonesia. That was a breathtaking journey for the Wialon community — both figuratively and literally, as climbing to 3,726 meters above sea level is a true physical challenge!

Having tested ourselves in the mountains of Indonesia, we now set our sights on the vast plains of Saudi Arabia: it’s time to master the way of the desert!

In January 2026, a select group from the Wialon partner community will embark on a once-in-a-lifetime adventure — the Wialon Challenge at Dakar Rally 2026. The desert holds countless obstacles hidden in the sands, but one thing is certain from the start — this is no luxury tour. It’s a survival experience, a test of skill, endurance, and teamwork, set against the backdrop of the toughest motorsport event on the planet.

This is a true test for the Wialon community: can we navigate the unknown, overcome challenges together, and emerge stronger?

Racing the sands: What to expect

Our desert crew will consist of 4 Wialon team members and 12 partners, divided into 4 squads of 4 participants each. For 5 days, we’ll be living and driving alongside the Dakar Rally, following its route and spirit — but on our own unique journey through the Saudi desert.

Teams will compete by tackling a series of survival challenges, including navigating the desert without GPS, starting a fire the traditional way, capturing the best photos, maximizing fuel efficiency, and many more. The team that completes the most challenges throughout the race will be crowned the winner of the Wialon Challenge!

Here’s what awaits the participants of the Wialon Challenge Dakar 2026:

• Electrifying atmosphere of desert racing — travel alongside the world’s most legendary rally, navigating the sands and witnessing the intensity of the race from up close.

• Unexpected off-road challenges — get stuck, dig yourselves out, change a wheel in the middle of nowhere, and learn to handle tough desert conditions.

• A camp like no other — visit the legendary Dakar bivouac (the mobile mini-city where rally participants rest and take care of their vehicles), and meet other adventurers and real racing teams.

• The ultimate test of teamwork and community spirit — your squad of 4 will face challenges that demand coordination, problem-solving, and resilience.

How to join the racing crew

Out of the 12 available spots for partners, 9 will be dedicated to representatives from Wialon partner companies with Gold status — a group of hand-picked adventurers selected for their business results, enthusiasm, availability, and readiness to embrace everything this Wialon Challenge brings.

They will begin receiving invitations as early as May. If you're one of the lucky recipients of our correspondence, it means we believe you're perfectly suited for this unique experience. You'll have exactly one week to RSVP, otherwise, the invitation will be extended to another deserving partner.

The remaining 3 spots are available to all Wialon partners worldwide, regardless of partner status level or the number of vehicles connected to Wialon.

We want these 3 places to be awarded to the most active and engaged members of the Wialon ecosystem. To make it fair and fun, we’re introducing a special points system that rewards your involvement in the community.

Here’s how it works:

• Earn points by participating in various community activities from April 24 to September 30 (scroll down for the full list of activities).

• For every 50 points, you’ll receive one ticket to enter the draw.

• More points = more tickets = better chances of winning!

• The randomized winners draw will take place during the Wialon community reunion in Dubai on October 12.

And here’s what at stake for each of the three lucky winners chosen during the draw:

• A once-in-a-lifetime chance to witness the famous Dakar Rally from up close.

• Participation in our own survival race through challenging off-road terrain of Saudi Arabia.

• A visit to the official Dakar Rally bivouac camp.

• An opportunity to meet the Gurtam Toyota Gazoo Racing Team Baltics and the rally driver Benediktas Vanagas.

• A full immersion in an unforgettable adventure you’ll be talking about for years to come.

Each Wialon Challenge participant will receive up to EUR 1,000 reimbursement of travel expenses (subject to submission of valid receipts), as well as full coverage of 5 days in the desert, including car rental, accommodation, and all necessary expedition equipment.

But before you rush off to earn the points, make sure you read the Contest Terms and Conditions carefully. We’ve highlighted the key details in the next section — but it’s important to go through the full document to understand all the rules.

Terms and Conditions: Key points 

• Any number of employees of a Wialon partner company can take part in the Contest. Your job title or position does not matter — everyone is welcome to participate.

• To participate, users must register via the dedicated website challenge.wialon.com. There, participants can submit their activities, track their accumulated points, explore the list of eligible activities, and check the leaderboard.

• Points won’t be added immediately after you submit an activity — we’ll need a bit of time to review it and make sure it meets the contest conditions.

• Each participant earns points individually, even if they’re from the same company. Depending on the activity, points may be awarded either to individual participants only or to all team members involved from the same company. For example, if multiple employees co-author a blog article, each of them will receive the full number of points for that activity.

• The official language of the Wialon Challenge Dakar 2026 trip is English. No interpreter will be provided during the expedition, so each participant must have a sufficient level of English to get the best out of this extraordinary experience. It’s about networking and community spirit after all!

• We’re building this adventure on trust and transparency. Submitting false information goes against the spirit of the Wialon community and may lead to disqualification from the Contest. The desert does not tolerate cheaters.

• Participation in this challenge requires proper preparation. Visa arrangements and health insurance are not included in the prize and must be taken care of by each participant individually. This journey is a serious adventure, so make sure you're ready for it — physically, logistically, and health-wise.
