Last year was truly remarkable for Wialon. We reached an impressive milestone with 4,000,000 connected vehicles, rolled out exciting new features, presented Wialon at the world’s biggest tech shows, met our partners in person all over the globe, and experienced many other memorable moments. We’ve put together a dedicated article with the top highlights of 2024 — make sure to check it out for a quick recap of an incredible year!

Looking ahead, our ambitions for 2025 are equally bold — if not even more so. We’re entering this new year with unwavering determination to keep improving Wialon and reaching new business heights alongside our valued partners.

This article is our teaser into what lies ahead. Read on to discover the key areas our team will focus on and what Wialon partners and their clients can expect to see in 2025.

Improving notifications functionality

Notifications are an important feature of Wialon, helping users stay informed about their fleet's status and respond promptly to various events. Our platform offers a wide variety of notification types to meet diverse needs.

To further improve the functionality, we plan to introduce greater flexibility and streamline the notification setup process. Enhancements will include advanced configuration logic along with a more transparent interface. These improvements will make it easier and faster for users to create targeted notifications, enhancing their overall experience with the feature.

Exploring WhatsApp integration

In addition to improving configuration workflows, we are considering ways to expand the options available for receiving notifications in 2025. Currently, Wialon users receive notifications through four channels — email, SMS, Telegram, and the Wialon mobile app — with the added flexibility of triggering custom actions via API requests based on those notifications. Looking ahead, we’re considering WhatsApp as an additional notification method. With WhatsApp being an extremely popular platform worldwide, we believe this could potentially benefit users who rely on it as a primary communication tool.

Improving the experience for telematics service providers in Wialon

Effective Wialon configuration and service management are critical for telematics service providers. These tasks include account creation, billing setup, access rights management, and other essential operations. To support our partners, we are focusing on refining the tools that make these processes more efficient and user-friendly.

This year, we're introducing updates to simplify account setup and user management. These enhancements will deliver streamlined configuration, improved access rights management, and a smoother overall experience, ensuring our partners can operate with greater efficiency and ease.

Streamlining usability and functionality of the Monitoring tab

The Monitoring tab is the most visited section of the platform, both in terms of unique users and time spent. In 2025, we will give it special attention to ensure the functionality is user-friendly and effective. The planned improvements will focus on a cleaner, more streamlined UI/UX, making it easier to access real-time unit information and configure the work list. Additionally, we aim to expand the available functionality to optimize workflows and enhance efficiency.

Improving the Tracks functionality

We will be refining the Tracks functionality to make the feature more convenient and user-friendly. Our primary goals for the improvements are to simplify incident analysis, enhance dispatcher efficiency, and deliver a smoother user experience.

Enhancing the workflow of the mobile app

Our mobile app is also set to see some changes this year, with a focus on improving navigation and usability. Planned updates will include slight reorganization of tabs and tools, as well as other UI and UX enhancements to ensure a seamless and intuitive workflow. These updates will make managing fleets on the go even more convenient.

Advancing Tasks and Health check functionality

We will continue to build on the features introduced in 2024: Tasks and Health check for telematics hardware. The positive feedback from our partners has been incredibly encouraging, and we are planning to further enhance these tools. For Tasks, users can look forward to additions such as a comments history, configurable rights for task management actions, new filters, and more. The Health check feature will be enhanced with additional criteria customization options for assessing device status, supporting a wider range of use cases.

…and countless other things

This is just a teaser of our ambitions for this year, so we won’t go into detail about every single task on the team’s to-do list. Rest assured, however, that we have numerous smaller initiatives ahead, all aimed at one primary goal: making the Wialon experience even more seamless, productive, and reliable. Here’s a brief overview of some of these efforts:

  • Reports improvements and simplification: we plan to refine the reports functionality to make it more user-friendly and convenient.

  • Feedback collection: we highly value the feedback we receive and plan to further refine the feedback system. This includes enabling users to provide input on Wialon features directly within the platform.

  • Integration with the recently released tacho functionality in flespi.

  • Ongoing UI improvements: we will continue introducing smaller UI tweaks and updates to make sure Wialon stays modern and user-friendly.

The outlined roadmap highlights our focus for the year ahead and may evolve along the way. We take a gradual release approach to ensure everything works smoothly, so new features become available to users incrementally.
