As the year winds down, it’s the best time to reflect. In 2024, we hit an incredible milestone — 4,000,000 vehicles on Wialon. But that’s just one of the many highlights that made this year unforgettable.
In this recap, we would like to invite you to a virtual road trip through 2024 as we revisit the most remarkable moments. Buckle up — it’s going to be an exciting ride!
Wialon is continually evolving to meet changing market demands and enhance user experience. To keep you in the loop, we regularly share updates on new features and improvements released. Let’s take a quick look at some of the most significant updates from this year.
New sensor for EV’s battery level control. This feature allows users to monitor the charging status of electric vehicles with ease. It represents an important first step toward building a comprehensive EV infrastructure in Wialon. Watch the webinar ➜
Recommendations for sensor creation. With this feature, users can create new sensors based on system-generated recommendations. It eliminates the need to manually configure the most popular sensors, saving time and effort.
New Tasks functionality. Fleet owners can now manage events in the new Tasks tab. This functionality allows them to monitor and handle events faster and more effectively, as everything is organized in one convenient place. Watch the webinar ➜
Health check for telematics hardware. Fleet owners also got the opportunity to monitor the status of their devices and proactively identify any deviations. Now they can spot potential issues before they lead to malfunctions that could impact the business.
Improved video telematics tool. This tool received several updates throughout the year, all aimed at reducing data traffic consumption, streamlining video file management, and enhancing analysis efficiency. Stay tuned for the webinar at the beginning of 2025.
More functionalities in the Wialon app. We’re expanding the features for mobile-only users while also improving the experience for those using Wialon across multiple platforms. For example, mobile users gained access to Tracks, EV and hybrid support, and more.
To make it easier to navigate these new features or find other information on working with Wialon, we recently introduced an AI assistant in the Wialon Hosting User Guide. Feel free to ask the bot any questions you have.
Wialon proudly partners with over 2,700 service providers across 160 countries, and the growth of each partner remains at the heart of our success. To fuel this growth, we provide individual support to every partner and cultivate a community that encourages continuous development.
This year, we organized three major networking events across three continents — in Mexico City, Dubai, and, for the first time, São Paulo. These gatherings offered great opportunities for partners to exchange ideas, discuss projects, and forge new collaborations. Thank you once again for being part of it, and keep an eye on my.wialon.com for our next events!
At our community reunion in Dubai, we unveiled the results of the Wialon Top Partners ranking. This annual ranking highlights the companies that connected the most vehicles to our platform over the past year, showcasing the top ten performers in each of the seven regions:
In Dubai, we also awarded certificates to partners achieving Silver and Gold statuses. Introduced this year, the status system aims to honor partners demonstrating remarkable growth. Partners with Silver and Gold statuses gain access to extra services and priority request processing. Currently, we have around 500 partners with Silver status and more than 100 partners with Gold. The next status review is scheduled for January 2025.
And one more great moment to remember: as we approached the milestone of 4,000,000 vehicles, we launched the symbolic Wialon Run Challenge — a global 4,000-kilometer run to mark this achievement. Huge thanks to our partner for supporting this idea, joining the run, and helping us cross the finish line just days before the anniversary vehicle was added to our platform.
Wialon is a hardware-agnostic platform compatible with over 3,600 devices from 700 manufacturers. We continually add new devices each month, ensuring that you can use recently released devices in your projects.
In October, we introduced the GPS Hardware Manufacturers Top 10 2024 — a ranking of the companies whose devices were most frequently connected to our platform. Published annually, it highlights the leading players in the telematics hardware market and helps newcomers make decisions when selecting hardware. In this edition, Teltonika Telematics, Navtelecom, and Jimi IoT took the top three positions.

We also launched an AI Assistant on a dedicated tab at wialon.com to guide you through hardware options. The bot currently covers devices from ten manufacturers, all marked with the Extended Expertise flag. Have you had a chance to try it yet?
This year, the Wialon team got a chance to visit Shenzhen, where we met with several hardware manufacturers, discussed joint initiatives, and got an inside look at their production and R&D facilities — truly an inspiring experience!
Speaking of joint initiatives, the Wialon team also joined the Telematics Workshop in Tanzania, organized by Teltonika Telematics, and the workshop devoted to comprehensive fuel management in the UAE, hosted by Escort Sensors Dubai. Additionally, we partnered with Queclink for a webinar showcasing advanced fleet digitalization solutions. If you missed it, you can find the recording here.
The Wialon team traveled the world, presenting at security and tech exhibitions in India, Hong Kong, Mexico, Morocco, South Africa, Brazil, Colombia, and the UAE. We showcased our product and met so many of you in person — these were remarkable moments!
In 2024, we introduced an updated concept for our expo zone — the fleet management hub — a one-stop destination with everything needed to launch or elevate a fleet management business. We created 200 m² spaces where, alongside our partners, we showcased new products, delivered presentations, and forged new valuable connections.

By the way, our 2025 event calendar is already locked in. Next year, the fleet management hub will make stops in four countries, and our team will also venture to new destinations.
If you're interested in co-exhibiting with us or exploring other collaboration opportunities, feel free to leave a request on expo.wialon.com.
Also, check out something new on our calendar — the Telematics & Connected Mobility conference in Lithuania. It’s going to be a large-scale, two-day event in a fresh format, tailored to a wide range of industry specialists. We recommend adding this event to your calendar right away — you won’t want to miss it!
Another highlight of this year was IoT project of the year, Wialon’s global contest for fleet management and IoT projects. For the 4th edition, we invited companies delivering comprehensive telematics and IoT solutions to showcase their achievements.
This year’s contest received around 100 submissions from 45 countries. After careful evaluation, the jury selected the top 16 projects: 4 projects were honored with the Grand Prix, and 12 projects were awarded the title of Winner of IoT project of the year.
You can explore summaries of the best projects on our blog, and the full stories will be added to our use case library.
The virtual road trip is coming to an end. How was it — thrilling, right? But before we wrap up, here are a few more moments worth highlighting.

Now that’s a wrap! We hope you enjoyed this road trip as much as we did!
If you’re curious to learn more, Gurtam — the developer of Wialon — also had a year filled with significant events. We recommend checking out their recap to discover how Gurtam integrated AI into its operations, partnered with world-renowned rally driver Benediktas Vanagas, and organized conferences for developers.
