Since 2019, the Wialon team has been waiting for the opportunity to throw a party that would shake up the whole telematics world. The previous large-scale global partner reunion took place three years ago. It was a memorable event that gathered 560 Wialon community members from different countries. So this time, we had no choice but to prepare an even more exciting and valuable program for our partners.
On August 17-18, 2022, the long-awaited partner gathering Telematics Vilnius 2022 finally happened in Vilnius, the city where the headquarters of Wialon is located. We prepared a diverse agenda so that everyone could choose presentations and activities to their liking. A short recap of all that was going on is below.
Aliaksandr Kuushynau, Head of Wialon, opened the conference with a traditional speech dwelling on the key events that had taken place in the community’s life lately. He spoke about the company’s achievements and ability to remain on the fast track despite all the challenges that were, admittedly, not a few during the ongoing year:
Aliaksandr also thanked all Wialon partners as despite all the obstacles of the latest years they keep on connecting new fleets to the platform.
Aliaksandr Kuushynau,
Head of Wialon
"For us, as a company, our partners have always been and will always be the highest priority. Therefore, with every decision we make, whether it is about the future of our product or service or new distribution conditions, we calculate how these decisions will affect the partner community as a whole and every partner individually.
For all the products, I believe users are the highest priority. And at Wialon, we also think about our end users and care for them, but still, you, our partners providing services, are #1 for us. It is your expertise, your knowledge, and your efforts that make thousands of fleets worldwide get connected to Wialon."
While talking about the future, Aliaksandr underlined his confidence in the Wialon team, partner community, and the platform itself. Many competitors either abandon the market or go into very specific niches, but Wialon stays a state-of-the-art platform designed to play a major role in diverse IoT and telematics projects.
Maria Starikova, Product Managers Team Lead, dived into the past and the present of Wialon. Check out some curious facts from her report:
Sergei Kostenko, Head of Product, Wialon, shared the vision of the platform’s future in more detail. He spoke about the Wialon product and development strategy for the next two years. Here are some insights from Sergei’s data-rich presentation:
Telematics would be impossible without reliable GPS devices. On the conference first day, we announced and awarded the best GPS hardware manufacturers of 2022. These hardware brands produce devices that Wialon partners have used in their projects most frequently in 2022. As far as hundreds of thousands of devices get connected to Wialon annually, it is safe to say that the ranking reflects the global trends and customer demands.
This year, Teltonika Telematics has ranked first. Check out our blog article to learn what companies occupy the rest of the places in the rating.
Antanas Segzda
CEO, Teltonika Telematics
"It’s an honor to be the first in the rating this year. We always try to be at the top level. We’ve worked in IoT for 20 years, and during all this time we’ve been thinking about what else our partners might need and how to bring more value and more business opportunities for them. You might see how big our portfolio is. With such a huge portfolio it’s not easy to catch up with us, but Wialon is always the first to integrate our products so that the partners can deliver value to their customers. There are so many use cases where our products are implemented, and we thank Wialon for showing them to the world."
The conference guests had an opportunity to visit the hardware and software exhibition and truly dive into the world of telematics technologies. The visitors could see and even hold the devices produced by Skypatrol, Xirgo Global | Sensata, Queclink, Teltonika Telematics, Escort Group, Mielta Technology, Mechatronics, Ruptela, Pod Group, GPS-Trace, Technoton, and others.
Telematics Vilnius 2022 delighted its participants with the diversity of options. One could listen to the presentations about the top-notch GPS and IoT hardware technologies delivered by the leading hardware manufacturers. The others could get practical knowledge on various topics by attending training sessions on marketing, content management, sales strategies, and business development.
The second day of Telematics Vilnius 2022 started with the presentations by the Wialon team. Denis Grebennikov, Head of Business Development Center, uncovered the company’s business development principles and a new Wialon policy (we highly recommend getting acquainted with it). The key conclusions from his speech are below:
Nikolai Melnikov, Head of Customer Service Center, talked about the new structure he is in charge of and how it helps streamline Wialon customer service and provide support to partners on the highest possible level. In his presentation, Nikolai focused on important aspects related to customer support in Wialon that you might not be aware of.
The new Customer Service Center consists of four teams:
Our partners delivered a plethora of presentations on the solutions that have already proved their effectiveness not only in fleet management but also in other industries. For example, the conference participants could learn about the modern crop control strategy or fundamental IoT connectivity challenges in the telematics sector and the ways to cope with them.
Our platform for GPS tracking and IoT offers a tremendous number of features and tools that help cope with various business challenges from agricultural campaign planning to cold chain compliance. With this idea in mind, we’ve prepared several workshops to help the community use Wialon to its fullest. For example, they could learn more about the new video module and product means to attract and win new business opportunities, how to cooperate with Wialon project implementation experts and grow your teams’ Wialon expertise, etc.
This year, we’ve restyled the Wialon Top 50 Global ranking turning it into Wialon Top Partners. This new format allows us to pay tribute to the companies that connected the biggest number of vehicles to Wialon over the last 12 months but now in the regional context. Wialon honors 10 partners in each of the seven regions: Africa, Asia Pacific, Central Asia, Europe, Middle East, North America, and South America.
