Last year, we built three huge IoT zones in different countries: partners co-exhibited with us at the industry events in Russia, the US, and UAE. The next step was the largest security show in Latin America, Expo Seguridad in México. Gurtam community delivered multiple IoT projects here, which means that IoT technology is in high demand in the region.

We can hardly overestimate the significance of the Latin American market for Gurtam. Here is what Aliaksandr Kuushynau, Head of Wialon Division, says about it:

“I do believe that this IoT Pavillion was just the beginning of our huge success in the region. The Mexican market is the second biggest for Gurtam, as well as one of the most important and fast-growing. And I am sure that with the efforts of the partners who joined us for this great show, we've got great recognition and paved the road to reaching a significant market share, shoulder to shoulder with our co-exhibitors – leading hardware and telematics solutions providers.”

By our fourth megabooth, we came up with an effective formula of productive participation in large-scale exhibitions: Wialon + telematics equipment + Wialon-based solutions + service and connectivity providers + consulting + tirelessness and sense of humor = 16,000 satisfied booth visitors. Though it seems like we missed one crucial element of the equation, which is the traditional partner conference. It took place one day before Expo Seguridad and brought together 180 representatives of Gurtam community.

But let’s get back to the megabooth. What solutions caught the visitors’ eye?

Hardware

The Russian manufacturer Galileosky showed the devices working with Easy Logic. It is an innovative technology allowing quick configuring of the functions necessary for a particular project. Other developments by Galileosky included CAN readers and trackers that don’t need a stable GSM signal to operate effectively.

Yulia Rokka, Business Development Director, shared her impressions:

«It is the leading security event in Latin America that brings together qualified buyers and exhibitors who present new products and solutions, as well as attendees interested in developing their knowledge.

In Mexico, we presented our innovative solutions, the Wi-Fi Hub that can collect data without GSM coverage and transmit it to the server, OBD device and CAN scanner functionality.”

The core area for Anytrek is the production of tracking devices for all trailer types. The company creates dash cameras, trackers that look and work as standard LED tail lights, and everything in between.

Suntech develops and produces compact low-end feature-rich trackers. ST730, for example, consumes little power, supports GPS/Wi-Fi/LBS, and has jamming detection. The ST4300 model works with LTE Cat M1/NB-IoT networks and GPS.

If the characteristics of your monitoring project demand using wireless trackers, we suggest considering the devices by another participant of the Gurtam IoT zone, Queclink. The LTE CAT-M models attracted well-deserved attention from the booth visitors.

And one more Gurtam technology partner, Neomatica, demonstrated the samples of its wireless devices. They work with wireless sensors, they are small-sized and can boast low energy consumption. It’s a telematics combo!

“Expo Seguridad in Mexico was super hot and full of meetings, presentations, and handshaking! Our wireless devices were inspiring people so much that they were forming queues waiting to talk about them,” Kseniya Dyachkova, International Sales Manager, Neomatica, told us.

Escort will be best remembered for its multifunctional weather station “Sokol-M” connected to Wialon. It can not only precisely predict the weather for the upcoming three days (with 95% probability) but also take photos of various weather activities and connect to additional equipment within a radius of 5 km via Lora technology. Wireless fuel level sensors by Escort also attracted much attention. Want to know what the car or other machinery wish to communicate to you through IoT? Escort specialists are good at translating from the “machine” language!

Video surveillance, Wialon-based solutions, and connectivity

Mobile video surveillance in transport monitoring is effectively a must-have these days. Streamax from China showed its innovative solutions for taxi pools and school buses, the passenger counting solution, and other products. Streamax developments have already helped to prevent multiple car accidents and took the driver and passenger control to a whole new level.

Dogo Informatique is well-known in Gurtam community for its logistics solutions as well as TRM system for tracking and managing fleet operations. A special panel with indicator lamps set to receive notifications from Wialon helped to demonstrate this system.

Golden M from Panama showed the entire range of Wialon-based developments. Customized solutions are what the company specializes in. By the way, on our blog, we wrote about Goffice, the set of tools designed for Gurtam partners. The booth visitors also got to know the solution for school buses control, Elucate, and Tenvio, the app for delivery services.

Results

Gurtam megabooth was super crowded during all three expo days. Even at the end of the day, when the working hours were over, many show attendees were still at the booth talking and learning things about Wialon and our partners’ solutions. It means coming here turned out to be the spot-on decision!

All the meetings, presentations, and acquaintances in Mexico can be described as smooth and productive. However, such a result would not be possible without the hard work of Gurtam community: hardware manufacturers, developers of Wialon-based solutions, and system integrators. Their expertise allowed Gurtam to take the lead at the local telematics market.

All visitors got our handmade toy cars. These vehicles were not connected to Wialon, of course, but did a good job promoting it at the show.

The end of the last working day was marked by the celebration of the 2,000,000th unit connection on Wialon. We invited the participants of the neighboring booths and made some noise.

That’s it for the first megabooth this year. But don’t forget that there are three more to come! By the way, we have already booked the place for megabooth at Expo Seguridad next year. It will take place on April 21-23, follow our exhibition calendar not to miss it!
