Introducing Wialon Platform: A new product for fleet digitalization

On September 10, at the Telematics & Connected Mobility conference, organized by Gurtam, we officially unveiled Wialon Platform to an audience of more than 500 industry leaders — marking the beginning of a new chapter in fleet digitalization.

From now on, the Wialon portfolio includes not only the trusted Wialon Hosting line — offered in Wialon Local server version as well — but also the brand-new Wialon Platform. Need a dispatcher-only setup to monitor driver location, behavior, and performance metrics? Done. Prefer a dedicated fleet maintenance space showing only relevant feeds and analytics? Just as easy.

A custom set of features and reports can be configured for each project, while white-labeling lets service providers apply their own brand identity and design elements. Even unit names can be adapted to match a customer’s terminology, making the software feel fully their own.

Its mirrored architecture — with data duplicated across independent servers in secure EU-based Tier-3 data centers — guarantees uptime, protects against data loss, and keeps services continuously available for clients. 

High-performance backend with flespi

Wialon Platform is developed by Gurtam, drawing on more than 20 years of hands-on software development experience in the fleet industry. For its backend technology, we chose flespi — a Gurtam product launched in 2017 — to power the platform.

With flespi as its engine, Wialon Platform can process huge amounts of live data without slowing down, allowing telematics service providers to connect mixed fleets with ease, integrate new devices quickly, scale their services with fewer technical limits, and focus on delivering value rather than managing infrastructure.

Wialon Platform architecture: How it works

Wialon Platform is built as a set of connected spaces, each designed for a specific role in fleet digitalization. Service providers manage and configure projects in Wialon Platform Studio, fleet owners handle daily operations in Wialon Platform FleetSpace, and drivers stay connected to their tasks, assignments, and managers through the Wialon Driver app. Together, these components ensure data flows seamlessly between all parties, making fleet management efficient at every level.

Wialon Platform Studio

This is a full-scale portal that gives service providers complete ownership of the solutions they create — from configuring features and ready-to-use templates to managing customers, roles, and access. It also includes analytics and control tools so they can monitor feature usage, track customer performance, and keep every project running smoothly.

To accelerate project launches, the Wialon Platform Studio provides templates for commands, checklists, customer setups, and driver behavior criteria. Interactive dashboards show connected devices and customer activity, giving service providers a clear, strategic view of how their solutions are being used.

Wialon Platform FleetSpace

FleetSpace is built for fleet owners and their everyday operations. It brings together everything they need to manage vehicles, drivers, maintenance, and performance. With FleetSpace, routine data turns into clear, actionable insights that help fleets run smarter. 

Inside, users will find all the essential tools, including the Monitoring tab for real-time vehicle tracking, the Drivers tab for managing drivers, Geofences for setting virtual zones, the Task Desk for handling operational tasks, the Track Player for reviewing vehicle routes, and much more.

This space also offers ready-made reports covering different aspects of fleet activity — many with map-based visualizations — as well as analytics dashboards that service providers can customize to focus on specific business needs.

Now, let’s explore some of the key tabs, tools, and features that make FleetSpace stand out:

• Driver behavior: This feature lets managers set scoring criteria to evaluate driving style. Trends and scores help highlight risky habits, making it easier to address issues, improve accountability, and encourage safer driving.

• Maintenance: A tab for planning, scheduling, and tracking services or repairs. It helps fleets stay compliant with maintenance requirements, reduce downtime, and keep service costs under control.

• Checklists: A feature designed to replace paper forms for inspections, task verification, and daily routines. Drivers can complete and submit checklists via mobile devices, ensuring structured, accurate, and reliable reporting.

• Tachograph control: This functionality automates the downloading, storing, and reviewing of tachograph files. It helps fleets comply with regulations on driving and rest times while keeping all records easily accessible.

• Automations: A flexible rules engine that allows users to trigger actions, apply labels, or send notifications when specific conditions are met. It takes over repetitive tasks and makes everyday fleet operations more efficient.

• Private use: A feature that allows employees to use company vehicles for personal trips while protecting their privacy. During private use, sensitive data such as routes or locations is hidden, ensuring compliance with employee agreements and regulations.

Wialon Driver

Wialon Driver is a single mobile app that supports drivers in their daily work. It lets drivers view assignments, complete inspections, and review submission history. The app also supports white-labeling for custom branding.
