The ultimate recap of our trip to ESS+ 2025

What a trip to Bogotá! We’ve attended ESS+ International Security Fair before, but 2025 was different: for the very first time, we brought the Wialon fleet management hub to Colombia.

For three days in August, our booth buzzed with demos and networking. Service providers, hardware manufacturers, and fleet professionals exchanged ideas and sparked collaborations that will shape the local market long after the expo.

And because no Wialon trip is complete without a community connection, we also gathered partners for a relaxed, inspiring, and full-of-good-conversations dinner.

Why Bogotá, why now?

Colombia is one of the top 5 countries in Latin America by the number of connected vehicles on Wialon, with more than 2,000 local fleets already relying on our solution. And thanks to its central location, the country serves as a meeting point for businesses across the region.

Colombia is also taking a proactive stance on road safety. The government’s Plan Nacional de Seguridad Vial (PNSV) has aimed to cut accidents by 50% by 2030, requiring companies with 10+ vehicles to adopt a fleet safety strategy (PESV). For fleets, it’s about protecting drivers and cargo while improving performance. For telematics service providers, it’s a fast-growing opportunity to deliver the right tools and increase the customer base.

That’s where Wialon fits right in. With features such as driver behavior monitoring, fuel control, geofencing, automated reporting, preventive maintenance, and video telematics, the solution helps fleets gain efficiency and prepare for compliance.

This is the backdrop we stepped into at ESS+. And bringing the fleet management hub to Bogotá was more than just changing booth format — it was about showing how fleet digitalization supports safety, compliance, and operational excellence in real terms.

Our fleet management hub has already proven itself at major exhibitions worldwide. At ESS+, the spotlight was once again on how Wialon and our technology partners bring fleet digitalization to life.

Visitors explored Wialon’s capabilities in action, examined IoT connectivity services from emnify, and tested telematics hardware:

• MDVRs by Howen Technologies
• asset trackers by Galileosky
• GPS tracking solutions by iStartek
• personal trackers by Skypatrol
• fuel-level sensors by Escort Monitoring Systems

And it wasn’t about looking at devices on shelves — visitors could test them, talk to the experts behind them, and see how these solutions solve daily challenges, such as fuel theft prevention or cargo protection.

What stood out was how practical the talks were: many visited the hub with a real project in mind. The stand generated a constant buzz, fueled by demos, partner meetings, and quick card swaps.

Beyond the expo: Our partner dinner

Even with a packed expo schedule, we made time for our favorite Wialon tradition — bringing the community together. Over dinner in Los Galenos restaurant, Wialon partners from across the region gathered in a relaxed atmosphere to share a meal — and plans for the future.

This networking event was another reminder of what defines the Wialon community — collaboration, openness, and the common goal of helping fleets run smarter and safer.
