Wialon has reached yet another milestone — as of July 2025, more than 4.2 million vehicles worldwide are now connected to our fleet management solution.
The anniversary vehicle takes us on an exciting journey across borders and time — now bringing you to Honduras to meet the team behind this milestone connection.
The story of our collaboration with Ares Sun began in 2009 — back when Tik Tok was just a Kesha song, Avatar had just hit theaters, and Netflix still mailed DVDs. That same year, Ares Sun joined the Wialon community — or, more accurately, became one of its cornerstones.
To put things in perspective, in 2009, Wialon had 14 partners (and fewer than 9,000 connected vehicles). Back then, Ares Sun was also a small company working on fuel control projects.

Fast-forward 16 years, and Ares Sun is now our longest-standing partner in Latin America, a trusted telematics provider for clients in Honduras, Guatemala, Mexico, Costa Rica, Panama, and El Salvador. In 2025, they confirmed their Golden partner status. Ares Sun has built a strong reputation within the Wialon community — not just for the number of projects they’ve delivered over the years but also for their in-depth technical expertise: they’re true Wialon experts who know the platform inside and out.
Ares Sun uses the Wialon SDK and API to develop custom applications tailored to their clients’ day-to-day operational needs. They’re also among the most active contributors when it comes to adopting released features and sharing feedback — playing a hands-on role in shaping Wialon into the solution it is today.

Ares Sun’s impact on the Wialon community can’t be overstated. Over the years, they have been consistently recognized in our Top Partners rankings — a testament to their steady growth with Wialon. But let's highlight their most recent achievement: In 2024, Ares Sun won the Best Fleet and Driver Management Solution for Growing Fleets award in our IoT project of the year competition. They delivered a full-scale digitalization solution for a fuel transportation company, a system that helps prevent accidents, improve driving behavior, and cut operational costs.
We could probably fill an entire photo book with memories shared with Jorge Valladares, General Manager at Ares Sun — from our first meeting at CeBIT to conquering Mount Rinjani together during the Wialon Challenge in 2023. So, it felt especially meaningful to hand them the milestone award in person, too — this time, during the Wialon community reunion in Mexico City on June 23, 2025.

“Ares Sun has been with us from the very beginning — growing alongside Wialon, shaping the community, and helping move the solution forward with every project and connection. We’re grateful to have them on this journey and proud to celebrate this milestone together.
Ares Sun, you have the line ‘powered by Wialon’ next to your logo. Today, we’re so proud to say: our 4.2 millionth vehicle connection is powered by Ares Sun.”

“From the very beginning of working with Wialon, we’ve been true believers in the vision and capabilities of the team behind it. I still vividly remember my first visit to their headquarters — it felt like something out of a startup story, with no more than eight people there at the time. Who would have imagined back then that we’d be connecting the 4.2 millionth unit in 2025?
This journey has been nothing short of extraordinary. Like any great relationship, it’s had its challenges and triumphs, but above all, it’s been rewarding, inspiring, and marked by mutual growth. Congratulations to all of us on what we’ve built together and for what lies ahead. Here’s to the future — we hope to be there to connect unit number 8 million.”
Today, the Wialon community includes over 2,700 telematics and fleet management service providers. And while we do count connected vehicles, we’ll never stop saying: it’s not simply about the numbers. It’s about the impact our partners make every day — powering smart, safe, and sustainable fleet operations across industries.
To the Ares Sun team: thanks for making history with us.
